Offensive? Don't think so
The show was really goodπ.. I have no idea why people are finding it so offensive. Watch the show and decide for yourself. If u consider "sacred games" 10, leila is 8.5...definitely worth a try
Dystopian future - Indian version of handmaid's tale
Not sure if Indian audience in general is matured enough to watch this material. Far more subtle than handmaid's tale.
Good social topic
Great concept to understand the wastage of natural resources can impact on future generation.....
I was confused at first because of imdb rating but but it was actually good series.
The people who rated it low i don't think that they got the point of dystopian future it is a community or society that is undesirable or frightening. And I think in near future there will be peace cause their are so many people who can get easily manipulated on the things like religion or different ideology.
It's not about anti hindu or anti muslim
it's the reality of people who are blinded by the false beliefs of their community.
And about the people who gave bad review they didn't even watch the whole 1st episode on what basis u are judging the series.
Maybe the base story is similar to handmaid's tale.
I gave it 9 cause bollywood can try something new rather then commercial masala.
Ignore the detractors and the rating, watch and judge for yourself
After a small blip in their productions (Ghoul), Netflix India comes back stronger with a second brilliant offering of the year in Leila. I guess in a super charged nationalistic environment which India finds itself other, this series provides some cruel truths which was too hard to handle for the nationalists who seem bent on bringing this series down.
The show is based on a novel about a dystopian future where a woman is on the search for her daughter in an authoritarian regime. I will not give of anything of the plot but the story is engaging, the performances are captivating from everyone and the cinematography blends within this chilling new environment created by the show runners. And most importantly, it is absolutely binge worthy. Check out this great show and you will not be disappointed.
