    Perplexing to say the least

I've watched Elementary from the beginning and always enjoyed it. I've always enjoyed the plots as well. My two griefs used to be that, sometimes (or most times) I couldn't understand what Jonny Lee Miller was saying, but then I started watching with subtitles, so that solved that problem.

The other grief was that I found them allowing Joan (Watson) to solve some of the crimes, and I tune in to see Sherlock solve the crimes, so that didn't sit well with me.

But this season seems to have gone off the deep end. I'm not going to pinpoint any particular episode, but I've found that the last couple of episodes have had some considerable twists and turns that have been very confusing that makes you want to re-watch the episodes to try to better understand them. The one with Odin was in particular perplexing.

I had looked forward to the final season with anticipation and yet sorrow, but now I feel like it's time to put this to bed, so I don't think I will be sad when it finishes. It did a good run and I'm thankful for it. I loved the previous seasons except this one but enjoyed the overall show all the same.

    • Trivia
As stated in the show, the Russians in October 2002 did in fact use a chemical that was intended to knock out terrorists in a Moscow theater holding 800 hostages. The chemical has now been identified as carfentanil which is 100 times more powerful than fentanyl and unfortunately resulted in the death of 120 hostages.
    • Goofs
It makes no sense for the detectives to lead a lengthy discussion with the medical examiner about how the victim might have received a fatal fentanyl overdose before the tox screen has even come back. At this stage they can't even know it was fentanyl or any other opioid. The observable symptoms are the same for any number of toxins, many of which are not even drugs.
    • Quotes

Joan Watson: [regarding Captain Dwyer] Did you ever notice any unusual behavior from him?

Sherlock Holmes: I saw him wash his hands before he urinated once.

Joan Watson: Mmm, that's not what I meant.
