I was honored to catch this intriguing film at the Golden State Film Festival with a full house. A collection of short films that are woven together by a common theme - the mental and emotional struggles of women in the modern era - Her Mind in Pieces was thought-provoking, entertaining, challenging, and ultimately an unusual look into the modern mind. That the anthology was of short pieces by women only heightened the experience.
Check it out when you get a chance.

True to its theme, this anthology of short films about women's mental (and emotional) health is visceral, cerebral, and dense with a variety of tones via different perspectives, ranging from bleak to hopeful; appropriately conveyed by maximizing the potential of surrealism in filmmaking! Truly excited to see where the trajectories for this film and some of the filmmakers' careers lead.

This is a film that everyone should see. This anthology of short films gives you a series of different perspectives on women in our society. It is not necessarily what you expect. Each short is well-written, well-acted, and more than worth watching.
Women take center stage in this collection of short films that are disparate in style, but similar in theme: that of women struggling to face fears, to communicate, to be understood, to understand themselves. Some tales are harrowing, some haunting, some absurdly comedic and some beautifully hopeful. The collective journey is well worth taking.
There is something in this film for just about everyone. You won't be disappointed. You might even get a few goosebumps.
