A short, poetic and theatrical meta episode of the movie "Capriccio all'italiana", directed by Pasolini.
It's basically a staging of the "Othello" tragedy, where we follow the dramas and anguishes of the puppets responsible for bringing up the show to the audience. Even though is just a short episode of the movie, I find the piece very charming and dreamy. Totò and Ninetto, along with Laura Betti, Franco/Ciccio and even Carlo Pisacane (of Soliti Ignoti fame) give life to the puppets as we follow the theatrical staging.
There are many interesting elements here, I respect Pasolini for his beliefs, but most of his movies have a pedantic narrative. Here things flow more freely, and the poetic message is more universal comprehended than a marxist seminary.
