What is this show anymore? It used to be smart, it used to be self-aware. Season 4 and onwards has been pandering, moral-speech-throat-shoving garbage. The writing has dipped from one of the best shows on air during Season 1 through 3 to one of the top 10 worst, I'm talking worse than The 100. This episode felt like an episode of a show on Disney Channel with a sepia filter. There were 10 (yes, I counted) "moral" speeches given in this episode alone. 10! Also, beer balloon. I don't even need to explain why that's the stupidest thing I've ever seen from FTWD. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
The main focus of the episode is the relationship between the female characters and the siblings, especially Annie and Dylan. And it is disappointing. Symphaty and sweet moments is all you get until the very end of the episode when we got a true adventorous moment. That's what made FTWD cool!
Such a cool episode with everyone being together, kinda. Al is now one of my favorite characters for sure. Sarah is chill. Charlie is actually useful, same as Victor. June is amazing. John - no words needed (he is everything the show needs). Morgan is such a good person and loyal friend. Wendell is chill as well. Dwight is tragic but cool. Alicia - badass as ever. Luciana, the love of my life. Grace is a promising newbie, hopefully she sticks around, I really like Karen David as an actress. Oh well, and the kids. Not so sure about them.
This is how The Walking Dead works the best, the group back together and working together. This was a needed episode as it moved the episode along nicely whilst nailing the character moments as it brought everyone a time to shine. Character moments like Morgan's and the heart to heart conversation with John and Dwight is two of many great moments of the episode that doesn't spoil anything. The pacing was actually really good as there were three plot points, it turned out nicely. How everything played out was a joy to watch, great television. Branching out from the The Walking Dead formula and succeeds. This is how I wanted the 4th season to be, no villain, just the environment as the villain and they succeeded!
The only bad thing about this episode was how they shot some scenes in the dark, made it really hard to see the faces at times, other than that I couldn't see any negative parts of this except for one other thing that's a spoiler. It was a great episode that focused on moving the story along with great moments and acting that makes this one of the stronger episodes of the season. The writing was a big part of the episode except for one thing that I found plot holish, the dialogue were some of the strongest yet of the season.

I am a mega fan of both Walking Dead shows, and while they both have ups and downs, one strength overall has been that the actions of the characters typically feel genuine.
However, this episode set a new low bar in that the major sequences that occurred were simply not believable, nor were they decisions that rational people would make in those situations. It is painfully obvious that a theme was chosen for this season, and by god the writers MUST write a story that fits neatly with the theme. But at the expense of having anything that remotely resembles a believable story.
Sure, anyone watching the show is willing to entertain what happens in an unreal world, but when common sense no longer applies, enjoyment of watching the show no longer applies. I will still give it a 4 stars because there are still technical aspects to the filming that are well done, and the actors are doing an admirable job to deliver bad material.
Please AMC - we need new showrunner(s) immediately.
