This film is a great date night film. I loved the sincerity and passion of the characters. It was not only a nod to love but also a love story for Los Angeles. It was very relatable and honest. Definitely check it out. It will pull your heartstrings.
It's clear that this is a low budget film. This is why I forgive most of the things I've noticed with it. That, and the fact that I don't normally watch romantic comedies anyway unless my wife forces me. I had to come on and give this a review though because it surprised me with how good it was even for being in the style of a movie I'm not normally into. Kudos to the direct/actors in What Love Looks like. Great job!
One of those rare films that hits all the right emotional notes! It's not often a film can make me laugh, cry and fall in love. Bravo!
"First off, I would rename this film "What does falling in love look like." It's more about how the young fall in love. About the longing for a companion that accepts you, no matter how nerdy or shy or seemingly insensitive you may appear to be. Some of these couples shouldn't have found a way to make it work but in the movies, things tend to work out in the end. I felt it wrapped up a bit quick and with a running time of only 85 minutes, the film could risked a few more minutes to make the stories wrap up at bit more realistically. My last wish is for the filmmakers to shoot a sequel in 5 years with the same 5 couples and show us what Love Really Looks Like. The meeting is the easy part, the making it work is what life is all about. Still a sweet comfortable film.
This was a fun, sweet little indie, and it's nice to see the anthology format being used here - it's a great storytelling tool, and not enough movies try to use it! This was a fun watch, definitely worth checking out, especially with V-Day right around the corner.
