    Irish look alike

This was a hilarious episode. From the attempts to bug Monty Don to the sublime finale where Alan's doppleganger, who does look like him, is a rough as sticks Irish farmer. The Irish farmer proceeds to take over the show bursting into song and joined by his family of farm hands who happen to be accomplished musicians. Inspired stuff.

    Better late than never

Hilarious series and coming from Norfolk I can't help but feel ashamed to have not had the pleasure of this till now. However has noone noticed the goof in this episode yet? In the first minute Alan counts and announces the time on live radio as 1,230 to 12. In actual fact its 1,130 to 12.

    Martin Brennan!

Steve Coogan is in top form. I still cannot stop laughing. That's all. Hoooo.

    I wet myself laughing.

A splendid episode. I laughed 44.5 times during this episode. That's an average of more than one laugh a minute.

Funniest TV since... never, it's out there on its own, with no comparison.

    • Trivia
When Martin Brennan first appears, many viewers were dumbstruck and confused as to how similar he was in looks to Alan Partridge/Steve Coogan. Some thought it was a different actor, but it soon became apparent, especially to those that knew Coogan could do voice impressions that it was indeed Steve Coogan with a good make-up job and contact lenses, to style him as an authentic farmer from Co. Sligo in Ireland. Coogan's accent and characterisation was also scarily authentic.
    • Goofs
Alan is interview Alan Partridge Lookalike Martin Brennan (who is also played by Steve Coogan). Roughly halfway through, they cut to a scene of 10 Downing Street's front door and a box can be seen on the Sofa next to Alan. This is the box which contain a tortoise which is a gift from Martin which he gives him later in the scene and shouldn't be there yet.
