Beyond the Beach: The Hell and the Hope

"War is the worst habit of the human species," says Trauma Surgeon Dr. Gino Strada. It is just one of the powerful statements in this documentary that follows the lives of healthcare professionals who devote themselves to caring for civilians caught in the brutality of terrorist run countries and violence in war zones to fleeing their homelands.

It follows the NGO workers as they care for civilians who are casualties of terror and war. It brings insight into the desperation, pain and will to survive from not just those fleeing but those trying to help care for them. Seeing the NGO workers' response as they try to provide more than triage is humbling and sobering.
