    Cliffhanger Episode

In flashback, Alpha assigns Dante to infiltrate in Alexandria. In the present days, he will stab Siddiqi's head when Rosita arrives in the room interrupting him. Meanwhile Siddiq reanimates while Dante and Rosita fight each other. Gamma and Aaron meet each other again and she gives the location of the horde expecting to see her nephew. Daryl interrogates Dante with Gabriel and Carol. Lydia is still missing. Michonne heads to Oceanside with a group and they stop at a library to get some books. Gabriel has an encounter with Dante in the cell with tragic consequences. Daryl and his group head to the location of the horde and when Carol sees Alpha, she hunts her down and the group follows her in a deadly cave.

"The World Before" is a cliffhanger episode of "The Walking Dead". The fate of traitor Dante is one of the best parts of the episode. The impulsive Carol again jeopardizes her friends. The end of the episode is a great introduction of the next season. My vote is eight.

Title (Brazil): "O Mundo Antes" ("The World Before")

Note: On 09 January 2024, I saw this episode again.

Great Episode but.. It doesn't feel like Mid-Season Finale.

It's like.. the episode before the Mid-Season Finale. There are some new things that was introduced in this episode. But it's just too little fpr finale. although it still better than "The Storm".

    Second Part Looks Lit

Well, after boring my mind while watching the first 8 episodes of this season, I am very surprised to say that second part looks as promising and as awesome as any part of The Walking Dead so far.

So, basically nothing exciting happened so far this season. Truth be told, I had no idea what they were doing - we have one death and no major plot changes in 8 episodes. I was never less excited to watch new episode every week as it was equivalent thrill of watching my dog scratch and lick herself. Actually no, that would even be more fun to watch than the first 8 episodes.

    But there's hope!

This could turn out to be a masterfull buildup (maybe a little too long, but The Walking Dead) for the second coming of this season as the trailer showed promise like non before. In the trailer you can see the drastic improvement in each important category for a TV show like TWD: 1) Action 2) Drama (especially the emotinal factor and suspense which are of upmost importance and is what The Walking Dead built itself from) 3) Thrill

Further into the series, it looks like we will have a filled, interesting plotlines, oppose to having these pointless, empty, eye soaring, mind numbing, cringe worthy, sleep making, hope losing shi- no let's be civil and call it "show".

We will see the major unveiling plot lines based on all the questions left in the first part (Negans role, Michonne discovering a freakin' naval port, Gammas destiny, Beta in action, battle engagement, Rosita & Eugene etc. etc.) and it looks awesome!

I am giving this episode a 8 only because it looks like a well thought out bulding up towards what could be the best 8 episode stretch in The Walking Dead history! Man, I'm exited and cannot wait to see what happens in February!

    Episode 8 - 8.0 Episode 1-8 - 7.0 (and I am gracious)

    Let's hope for the best!

    What's not to Like?

Personally, unpopular opinion it MAY be, I really enjoyed this episode!!!! I thought the storylines had such a meaning and were amazing (a culmination of what we've already witnessed in this first half). I found myself on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn the story took, amazingly recurrent cinematography with this Cold War vibe lingering throughout. I was amazed and very pleased at the same time how they executed certain culminating stories promptly and not dragging them out. As a consistent and committed TWD fan through the highs and apparent lows, I thoroughly enjoyed this mid season finale which gave a new take on what's on that feeling of the season.... SO FAR!!!

culmination of 18 months of deeply dropping ratings due to lousy writing

To those blindly giving it a ten and saying "how can one review it without seeing it?" YOU are the person FAKE upvoting it without seeing it. The rest of us did see it on FRIDAY night since AMC has premium viewer access (AMC Premiere which I get paid for through work) on FRIDAYS we did see it already. Please just scan the entire season episode ratings here: the ratings all start on Friday night for a reason. Onto this episode: The mid season "finale" is just another continuation of the slide in show quality we have seen in 18 months. The show has definitely become dumbed down with no character motivation present, no logic in actions, and the most tame and weak antagonist ever. The strong and interesting lead characters are almost all gone, and we are left with a leadership (protagonist and antagonist) that is laughable and not credible.

The prayer that Gabriel recites at Siddiq's funeral - "We created you from it, and returned you to it. And from it, we will raise you a second time" - is from the Quran (20:55). Siddiq's character was Muslim, and when he first met Carl he also quoted the Quran.

Daryl Dixon: Will you stop this shit? Please. You want her dead so bad, you don't care what happens to yourself.

      Carol Peletier: That's not true.

Daryl Dixon: Your never came off that boat... It's like talking to a god-damn ghost. I'm the one you tell.

      [Pointing to himself]

      Daryl Dixon: Me.

Carol Peletier: [Crying, voice cracking] I don't know how.

Daryl Dixon: [Softly] You gotta try, alright? Come on.

      [Pulls her into a hug]

Daryl Dixon: She's not worth it. She's not. Look at me. She's a dead woman anyway. We have a future--don't let her take that too.

      [Carol nods]

      Daryl Dixon: You good?

      Carol Peletier: Yeah.
