I must say that I would of agreed with the low score of Intergalactic if I had just watched episode one, I thought that I would stick with it and whilst it is no "Firefly" it did get better and better as it went along and I started to enjoy it more and more, I hope that they do make a second series.
So whilst this is not a classic, it is definitely very watchable(remember that this is a low budget production), I do recommend that you persevere with it.

I really liked the look of the cast, like Eleanor Tomlinson and loved Craig Parkinson in Line of Duty. The adverts were everywhere this week so decided to give it a try but the story is very lacklustre. It does get a bit better, but the acting is also inconsistent and it just doesn't make a very good show as a whole. Ignore all the biased 1/10 and 10/10 reviews from people with agendas. This show isn't that bad or good, it is simply mediocre which is a big shame.
The script and storyline are garbage on the whole, the dialogue poor and the acting, while not all bad, completely lacking in nuance.
It's not just that the characters are all one dimensional, but everyone spends every scene shouting and snarling at each other, everyone is angry at everyone else all the time and it's exhausting to sit through. If only there was a little subtlety to it, some introspection and some room for characters to just breath it would make the action scenes stand out and give the conflict more impact. Instead it's like sitting on the sofa while someone smacks you over the head with a metal tray while screaming in your face for 45 minutes.
You can easily sit through it and let it wash over you if you have absolutely nothing else to do, but if there's anything, literally anything else going on, do that instead.

Something very strange is going on here, everything up to the prison ship was first class but then collapsed into some of the worst acting I have ever witnessed. The actors performance was astonishingly poor and makes you wonder whether any of these people have ever even seen the inside of a dramatic arts Academy. My rating went from a high 8 to a low 2 between one scene and the next it was so bad. Then as if by magic, the direction/acting performance quality returned! It's all very strange and once you are through the first couple of episodes the show starts to get good. As a result, I'm hoping that the prison ship acting fiasco was just a blip and I'm actually starting to think that an assistant director (after a heavy nights drinking) told the actors to behave as weirdly crazy as possible.
Now, about the special effects, I've even seen a couple of reviews that have even suggested that the effects were "cheap and nasty". Well, I worked in the industry for 20 years and these are some excellent sets and effects. Actually, the only negative effects that I could pick up on was of the motion of the personal police ship at the start of episode one.

Pretty weak script, but the story premise is interesting and I enjoyed it well enough. With a bit more focus on sxript, this show could bloom in season 2. Not a 10 out of 10, but not a 4 as is rated either.
