My favorite episode of my favorite show- the full pendulum swing from weddings to death in one short, hilarious synopsis.
I'm Irish by legacy- family hails from Dunmanway, Co Cork, but American born; some of the colloquialisms are lost on me, but for the most part, it's easy enough to follow along. Sure we've got a fair amount of phrases and such things that are likely lost on other countries, but in all my life, I've never wished so hard for a line dance I could do while sitting on my backside. HOW DID THIS ESCAPE OUR PURVIEW IN AMERICA?!?!
I very much plan on playing this song at our daughters wedding just to see if anyone screams 'ROCK THE BOAT!! HAPPY EFFING DAY!!' Sure, it might be me, but it happens.
What an hilarious show that I never expected to love as much as I do- maybe it's the histrionics ( just a wee bit older than these Derry girls) maybe it's that family is the same no matter where on earth you live, maybe it's the undeniable chemistry, I don't know, but this is absolutely brilliant.
