I really wanted to like this series as I like natural history and am fascinated by the stops and starts that our planet has undergone. However, the substance seemed very thin explaining the pathway to and from snowball earth. The collective noun, "life" was used to denote something amorphous. At each sentence the presenter Chris Packham read from the script in flowery terms, dramatic phrases bolstered by music triumphantly gushing for the exit, I had at least a few questions which were never engaged with and certainly without depth. Maybe it is the medium, but shallow is how I have encountered the first 2 episodes. At the end, the triumph of science showing what great things it has done in mapping 3d images and creating a theory of life interaction at that time. The emperor of science is wearing no clothes, and will run butt naked into the bathing pavilion should their theories taken as fact are overturned.
I thought this concept truly was a base of our psychology that my waking life is the mirror of the dreaming life. I thought the cast were excellent and the story engaging particularly in the 2nd half of the series. I just hope that it isn't stuffed up in Series 2. Unfortunately, it is on Apple TV where my membership expires shortly. So I am totally satisfied with the 1st series. Original, I love the characters and care for them. Great work for all who worked on this series.
