If you can look past the bad acting from certain characters like LaMar or Kitan...
If you can look past lots of lazy writing...
If you can even look past the bad humor and weird deliveries...
It's actually a pretty entertaining show. I've had flu for a week and watched the whole season. I think some people complained because they randomly made LaMar's dumbness have a crazy high IQ in the 11th episode.
Anyway, it's n easy watch and especially the early episodes are good. The season start to drop off later on.
I don't know the characters name... but he's this big headed yellow alien, and he's freaking hilarious. Bumped my rating from a 7 to an 8. He only makes bit appearances but should be a made a main character.

First off: Don't listen to these dumb comments giving Tom a freakin one out of ten. Like, are you joking me? Because he made TASTEFUL jokes about Downsyndrome and wasn't even directly making fun of them.
Anyway, that out of the way, he's found a way to do less and say more. What I mean is: he's more subtle and somehow more funny. His timing is masterful. His expressions are genuinely funny and truthful. His set is fresh af. I loved it. And I'm very critical of stand ups. It does help that I've been a Tom fan for years.
PS- He lost the weight! Yes!

Yeah, it follows many of the corny and prosaic cliches of a bully/hero movie, but that doesn't always mean it's bad.
I can say first-hand how enjoyable this was. Maybe it was the mood I was in, it's possible, but it delivers the right thing from a theme easily over-worn. It's a feel-good movie and that's exactly how I felt at the end.
The most important thing this movie needed in order to be good is that you're rooting for the characters, that they're cared for...and this movie has quite a few with Auggie being the central character. This movie manages to pull off a very difficult task as it cycles through backstories. I managed to be rooting for most of them by the end of it, so amazing job there.
Message for the viewer who's probably checking to see if they should watch this or not: "It's a tear-jerker about a boy and his world. It's a feel-good constant and it doesn't fall flat like most I've seen. Watch it. Trust me.
