  • Gorgeous but stupid

Obviously this movie cost a lot of money, it shows: the effects are perfect, the soundtrack must have cost a fortune and an A-Lister leading man.

But this left nothing for the writing department - the script feels like an 11yr old wrote it - based on every trope ever.

Women are first and foremost to be desired by men or they are mothers.

The old way is the good way.

If you feel pain - just work thru it.

There can not be a hero journey with a living father.

Really sad What could have been...

    Who is this for?

My very first memories as a kid are watching Schumacher and Hill battle - so I watch F1 for a long time and I am not the target audience that is for sure.

  • A great concept and a great funble

This film could have been a great lovestory about griefing, letting go and starting new and as this was in reach right at the end, they completely dropped this opportunity and said - nah I am good - and made an ending for I believe no one

Instead of working out the difficulties of their characters, they just make them vanish and with it all of the progress made during their arches

An absolute waste of time - even for the characters themselves and this is really rare

Not sure how anybody thought - This is the way to go -

The fact that I loved the movie (was a 9 for me to that point) literally 2 min before the end makes it even worse somehow.

  • The perfect example of show don't tell

It is a masterpiece in this manner: It plays over several years - and in multiple timelines (it's a Nolan of course it does)

It also plays at multiple locations over those several years and not ONCE was it felt necessary to show a time or location stamp on screen and it worked brilliantly, I don't believe anyone would mix up the timelines or locations or don't feel like they know where or when they are as an audience

What do I mean by this? Well you know - oh now we are at this location" without the movie telling you Washington - It also isn't the case with - how much time has passed? - no there are optical clues - others than simply aging the characters, more subtle and not forced.
