The entire time it felt like I was watching a sequel or spin-off. Nothing is properly explained. Nothing makes sense. When I say nothing, I mean at every single level it made no sense.
Every piece of dialog, the statements, the replies make no sense.
Every action and every reaction, make no sense.
Every bit of lore is ill-explained, and thus, makes no sense. Why call animals "flowers"? Why are the beastkin upset that she eats these "flowers"? What's the big deal about the swords? Why do they worship a tree? Why do they simply fight each other when they know the tree controls both sides? Why is everything done as a musical?
I watched the entire first season hoping at *some* point they'd do something/say something that made sense. Not only did they never explain the previous things that made no sense, but they just keep heaping on more things... that made no sense.
It's as if the writer had some sort of curse of madness and had to roll a D100 for every piece of dialog and ever action/reaction.

It's so weird to see such high quality CGI and animation... with such ridiculously bad live action.
The story was bizarre, but interesting.
Everything about the movie was a mixed bag... except... It was THREE hours long, and abruptly ends. There's at least 2 hours that could be cut, as it doesn't move the plot along, is utterly irrelevant, meaningless, or just plain skippable. They could have *easily* told the entire story, start to finish in 3 hours, including the ending that they are making later...
(I utterly despise the 'required characters' for reviews. Just let me give MY review and be done with it)
