Talk about a white wash! This "documentary" completely skipped over an entire segment of John Lennon and his "lovely" wife, Yoko Ono. The "journalists" who wrote this very conveniently left out every negative thing about John Lennon and Yoko Ono. They skipped over the whole thing about John Lennon abandoning his wife and small child to run off with Yoko Ono. No mention of the fact that his ex wife was so broke that at one time Paul McCartney "bought" keepsakes she had and returned them to her so she could keep Lennon's son fed and housed. No mention that John literally abused his son Julian by conducting interviews and writing songs gushing about his relationship as a "father" with Ono's son Sean while having almost nothing to do with his older son Julian. Lennon was a gifted song writer and part of an amazing cultural revolution of the Beatles, he was also a crappy father and a total sell out for his second wife.
I have been looking forward to this for a long time. Super excited to see Kevin Kline in a series and with Cate Blanchette I figured this was a sure fire hit.
Got a bit of start when it started out with sex scenes that didn't seem to have any connection to the plot. So figured I'd just wait and see as surely there would be a reason for it later. Then the sex scenes went into full on soft core porn. Not impressed at all. If I wanted to watch porn I would not be cruising Apple TV+ for it. The worst part is that the porn isn't needed to tell the story at all. Yes, sex was part of the story, but it didn't need to be minutes long full on oral sex, it is possible to tell an audience that sex is involved without being overly graphic.
The character, Catherine, was a spineless and pathetic female that made no sense when compared to the person she was portrayed in her professional life and her early years (when the 'event' took place).
Over all a waste of two talented performer's skills.

This is a beautiful film that people are not giving it the credit it deserves because it's not a hetro romance story. The writing is fantastic, the acting superb, the storyline probes deep emotions and difficult subjects. Visually it is quite artistic. Lots of gorgeous artwork in the backgrounds. Personally I didn't really understand the purpose of the female friend of Marcus's character. She was so over the top with the self centred behavior. Dan Levi was superb, as always. I'm super sad that this film is not getting the credit, great reviews and praise it deserves. Give this really well written and acted film a chance. Dan Levi is underrated.
