I went back to my childhood and lived the exact same emotions. All the things made sense now. Taka's battles with himself, how he betrayed and saved Mufasa. I would hope Mufasa would forgive him, after all Taka saved him twice, but if that happened we wouldn't have an original story. All characters came into place, a lot of questions that were unclear, like why did Uncle Scar do what he did with Mufasa ? With this new movie an additional and so much required depth and background was brought in. Fascinating connection to the original story.
A great and winderful story, thanks for creating it, thanks for the memories !

I watched original cartoon series in 2015, then in 2019 and now in 2023. As it happens after being under the impression of the cartoon, you want more and I knew there was a movie as well. I knew there was a movie, but I didn't see it, so I went on with it.
Boy, I mean why ? Absolutely no soul was put in the work, looked like effortless school project at the 4th grade graduation. Actors weren't involved in the scenes and I thought they wanted to quickly finish the scenes to go meet their friends outside of the movie. Skipping the part where 3 books are zipped in one movie.
I do have a wish - a proper trilogy this wonderful creation deserves ! Proper cast selection, analysis of the characters and attention to details. There is much that can be done to produce a great product here.
This one is lookedlike a money laundering project without any expectations.

Every time Russia is a threat. The analogy of Krazhni with the Soviet Union as if Soviet Union was an evil. Try at least once to fight other enemies, Turks for example or someone else. For god sake, how can you release such a propaganda and a horrible acting ! Shame on you Netflix ! Actors don't even play normally, everything is so pathetic in this movie. I would've given 0 if there was such a rating....
