The film is solid. Beautiful shots of Los Angeles, clean script that doesn't over explain and creates an intriguing narrative without relying heavily on dialogue. The actors were all fantastic and it has a rawness to it. The character development takes its time and the lead is fleshed out well. There was a lot of tension in this film and it was unpredictable which made for a strong viewing. I loved it. However, this is a film that requires patience and some people might find sitting through it laborious. The music was great! I'm not sure if it's more than a one time watch but well worth seeing!
What a great screenplay this was!!! Movie had so many brilliant elements. The script was not predictable and the acting was top notch from everyone! Amy Madigan Who played Aunt Gladys should get an Oscar for this! What a transcending role! I mean, come on! They gave one to Jamie Lee for playing a frumpy tax lady, they can give one to this brilliant portrayal. Strongest elements were the cinematography and script! Lots of solid jump scares as well! Great tension! Barely dragged anywhere, only just a hair during the kids sequence but I forgive it because it might've been necessary for context. SCORE WAS A 10/10!!!!
Gave it an 8 because.... Stop being cheap, there are no palm trees in Pennsylvania! This was clearly shot in the south. If you're going to create a world, I need to fill believe it and it was very obvious this was the south and not Pennsylvania!!!! Alex's dad also had a Georgia accent. Would've liked a stronger opening but again forgivable because it gave important context without bogging down the tension but whose voice was it? We never meet the girl. Just some random kids voice. But great movie! We need more films like this that rely on strong acting and story as opposed to generic CGI! This is filmmaking!

This movie was rushed and didn't take the time to build the suspense like the first did. It just hit all the beats and didn't have much character development. The actors don't look real, they all look fake off of tik tok or something. The fake tears looked like they used tear sticks. It was all over the place. The gay baiting by straight characters was also annoying and forced (I say that as a gay person). The guys all looked like they were in their 30's and the women in their late twenties. I walked out because it was just very B movie. The kills were phony and cheesy. Very generic movie that doesn't even come close to the original which itself is a distant jealous cousin of Scream. We need better story and substance and not pandering.
