I am a fan of romantic comedies, and this is as good as it gets. Amidst some pointless films, this one comes as a breath of fresh air. The true star of this movie is the writer-director - yes, it wasn't perfect, but what is? Everyone who portrayed his vision on screen were fantastic, especially the lead pair. Call me crazy, but Britt Robertson reminds me of Julia Roberts both in her expressions and in the way she acts. The film itself moves at a good pace and takes a slightly different approach to the usual teenage stuff that we have seen. For me, it certainly was worth the watch.
Would I recommend it? Yes.

Another movie riding solely on its lead actor with no thought given whatsoever to story - only this time, Vishnuvardan's attempt at another Billa does not keep you interested. The movie aspires to be a lot, but never takes you there. It was like watching individual stylish clips of Ajith put together.
Editing and screenplay is a letdown. Yuvan's music is very average. Arya's performance also below par. Nayanthara has done her job perfectly - and that is to look ravishing. I was very disappointed since these are the kind of movies that insults your intelligence. Ajith did what he always does of late - looks stylish and has a good presence of screen. But is the movie worth the money on the whole? Not at all if you are not an Ajith fan.

For a story that is predictable and has nothing new, Vanakkam Chennai manages to keep the viewer occupied. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Everyone on screen have done their part well except maybe for Shiva - who wasn't that bad either. Priya Anand sizzles and Santhanam yet again delivers a strong performance. Aniruth has done a fair job and so has Kiruthiga, the director. The movie starts off briskly and maintains its pace throughout the first half, but drags on towards the latter part and finishes with the usual template that we have seen time and again.
Overall, a very decent effort and worth the watch.
