So the daughter ends up in modern day London and falls for the typical Londoner. Faithful to the actual demographics and even down to the local police force. The writers definitely done their research and need to be praised. Well done. The movie was a bit over the top when it came to the action scenes.
I noticed the strong comment from "Where have we gone wrong". The casting of Redmayne was the perfect choice for this remake of a classic. The big mistake was the casting of the lead female role to Lashana Lynch, the female MI6 agent. She comes across as to inexperienced for this role. Like she was trying to hard to impress and less attention to her character role, who should have gone to a more seasoned actress. They should have cast a more confident and experienced actress like Christine Adams. I will admit that the rest of the cast was okay and the acting decent. The story and production were spot on for me and kept me glued to the action scenes with Redmayne. I was tempted to fast forward all the Lashana Lynch parts as they became very annoying.
I was expecting a better performance, especially with Lena Headey in the cast. The effects and scenes were cheap Syfy channels stuff. Stephan James looked lost in that character. It was as if he was stuck in slow motion and could just not get the ball rolling. The first scene where the ship is trying to contact him and he takes his time to even respond. It was as if the script writers actually wanted him to look like an lazy idiot. Which is sad. I felt that the whole flow of the first episode, of which i watched about 20 minutes, just grinded to a halt with boredom. This being the pilot episode, they should have made a better effort. Definitely will be giving this series a miss.
