If ever there was a series that a song was sung by the cast, in each episode, this was it. Even though Park Shin-hye does sing one song, there is no dedicated time slot in each episode for it. Unlike, "Hospital Playlist", which is a series about a hospital, it had the cast sing and play a song at the end of each episode. But I thought Park Shin-hye played the part well, even though her wide hips always gave the game away. It took the Mother character to clear things up in the last episode, that she never had it off with Park Shin-hye's characters father and we are never told who the ML characters father is/was, but it's safe to ascertain that they're not brother and sister. The tech showed the age of the series, made in 2009, cell phones looked the equivalent of iPhone 4's. The above short coming are the reason for my rating of 7.
...to, "Heirs"? It actually has a very similar story line with the same ML, "Lee Min-ho", the 2 series are only separated by 4 years. Why I've given this series, only a 6, is because it has dated quite badly, poor girls family acting is aimed at the domestic market, and is so over the top, it's not funny. Something was lost in translation, between the potter character, his old love interest and the new younger love interest, during the episodes, it was a bit confusing. 25 episodes was probably too much too, the obligatory 16 episodes would have sufficed, It is probably better if you watch this series before, "Heirs".
...this series was, Reason, I only gave it a 7, was, this series is aimed at the domestic market of South Korea, with the comedic scenes, very over acted, but the dramatic scenes in contrast, were really well acted.
First time seeing both leads, but they were very impressive, hope to see them in other series. Seen both Hwang Hee and Ahn Kil-kang in the same series, "Tale of the Nine Tailed". But this series is about 2 opposites, old money verses new money attracting with a side story of intrigue. The usual story lines of orphans, multiple suitors, step parents and arranged marriages are again part of this K-Drama, but it's well written and produced, loved the way some scenes had the background transformed into a painting, seeing how the story revolved around a art gallery. I do recommend that you add this to your watch list. BTW, really rate the soundtrack too...
