I went into Cirque du Freak: TheVampire's Assistant not expecting much based on some of the harsh reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I also did not know this movie was based on a series of book. The movie has a unique story, fun characters, and a dark yet humorous tone that kept me entertained. The fantasy world of vampires and freaks is visually cool, and John C. Reilly as Larten Crepsley brought a lot of charm to the film. Sure, it's not perfect, and some parts feel rushed, but overall, it's creative and enjoyable. It's worth a watch if you like quirky fantasy movies. Definitely better than people give it credit for!
