I stumbled into this movie back in the day when cable TV was a thing and some channel ran old late night movies. It was one of those times you have something on, and you are half paying attention. Then as it progressed, I was like what the heck is this movie about? I was all in. Nicolas Cage is so bizarre and whack in this movie, that his acting is mesmerizing. You cannot not stop watching or look away. I find Mr. Cage to be very hit and miss but one thing you can say about him, is he rarely dull. He has a lot of great performances and quite a few bad ones. He is in some of my favorite movies, "Family Man' "When Peggy Sue got Married", "Moostruck". In this movie I feel like he was all in, in a big way. You cannot pigeonhole this movie. Is it drama? Is it comedy, is it black comedy, is it horror. Honestly it has all of that.

I enjoyed it. Cozy mysteries are meant to be low stress, easy to watch and the type of show you can be doing something else while watching. This show fits the bill. I did not think anyone was overacting. I am not sure why some people said that. I am American and only really knew Phyllis Logan, so maybe that helped. I just finished Death Valley, which is the same genre and I quite enjoyed that one as well. I am not sure why so many reviewers are being so hard on this one. There are different levels of cozy mysteries. Ludwig is not like this one, you need to really pay attention with that type, which has multiple levels going on. I watch a lot of those too.
