What was that I just watched? I mean it did raise important discussions and had some okay acting, but it was filmed in a documtrney style but it felt like a film pretending to be a documentary. And what the hell was that finale? It's not realistic at all, and it's just unnecessary. The director could have made it such a better conclusion, it just felt unnecessarily gratuitous. I'm normally a fan of over the top gore but if you're having a reflective docu-drama, it doesn't need that at the end. Ugh. Avoid this.
There's enough wrong with this film (exaggerated shaky cam that at moments is almost unwatchable, overuse of camera effects, and seemingly gratuitous voyeuristic shots)...but Ryan's mastery of the material, strong sense of editing, and capacity to sculpt a film from nothing but a camera, a committed actress and a captivating soundtrack make this film stand out in a sea of wannabes. There were quite some good camera angles and cinematography at times. Ryan has a gift that is evident in this very indie production and proves he is far more than just a bloke with a camera and pretentions. A promising debut.
I came across this film on effedupmovies it said "I spit on your grave meets dawn of the dead", I thought hmm sounds weird but funny, let's check this out!
Well there was like 1 or 2 zombies in the whole film, 1-3 minutes of screen time in whole film...not anything like like Dawn Of The Dead.
Well nothing much really happens for the rest, but at the end a woman gets raped and hunted down. Well that's the I Spit On Your Grave part, but in I Spit On Your Grave a woman gets revenge and there is no Revenge in this film from a woman in this film, or I didn't notice and I'm very stupid.
This film also has bad acting, weird and laughable dialogue, it tries to be distubing, which it isn't, it's more goofy and laughable than distrubing.
This film also had gunshot sounds that sounded like bombs instead of gunshots. This film also had a scene where a woman's head got smashed a couple times on a bar. Guess what? Some weird camera shakes and a stupid bomb sounds that isn't even in sync when her head gets smashed.
Oh and I did get lied to because there wasn't even any torture in this film.
