So its halloween season and Im scouring Netflix for something spooky, fun and exciting to watch. Do you think this was ever recommended?!? Not once. Why!!?? My mother only found this gem by searching titles by letter to see whats not usually recommended and found this gem under "L". This is probably the reason we aren't getting a second season because Netflix isnt advertising it and for the life of me I dont understand why. One of the funnest, wittiest, spookiest, fast paced and enjoyable series I've seen. The character chemistry is great, the world is interesting and unique, and even though it's technically YA its really great for any age. Its not plagued with boring teen drama, but just takes you along on a unique adventure. The show doesn't hold your hand and explain everything to you, it shows you along the way.
I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Its sad that when Disney does something unique with a fresh take and its so heavily criticized. This was far better story telling in my opinion than Kenobi or Ahsoka. It's a lot less slow than others like Andor, which was painful for the first few episodes. The Acolyte was a fun ride from the get go. While I don't agree with all the decisions made, and I won't spoil it, if there has been any realistic and believable turn to the dark side this show does it. In this series good and bad isn't as clear and the lines can blur. Who is good? Who is bad? Can someone good turn bad trying to do a good thing? I like the different character stories and struggles that makes it feel more real. I definitely think people should give it a chance. This doesn't deserve to be rated a 4!! Should be at least a 7 and I don't think it deserves the hate. It would have been great to get a second season. But "fans" like to ruin that for everyone I suppose.
I felt like this show really wasted a lot of time building up to a pretty poor ending. Would have been better if they had just made it into a 2 hour movie. I'm getting tired of miniseries that build up as if theres going to be a satisfying ending and then its a let down. The show was interesting and it left you wondering but its kind of depressing thinking of all the characters and what they went through and the sacrifices they made all for what? I wont spoil it but I dont know what the writers on this were thinking. Is this the best ending they could come up with? They could have done so much more.
