Hell no, almost too bad for words. The yanks save the world again. H. G. Wells would be turning in his grave. I think he turned once before when Tom Cruise attempted to emulate the story of War of the Worlds some years ago, that too was beyond a joke. Change the name of the movie would possibly help ratings.
I'm finding it all rather boring but will give it another go next Sunday (3rd episode). I'm not even impressed with the effects to date and find them very mediocre and nothing to get excited about.
I fail to understand why it has made adult viewing time, it really is one for the kids and should possibly be shown on CBBC.
Maybe I'm just become an old grunt in my later years, I don't know.

I was glued to the screen, this for me was an epic production and worthy of the 10 stars I have awarded it. Timothy Spall was absolutely magnificent and the supporting cast just superb.
