This may be a "wonderful story" to many, but it deals with very deviant behavior that has become normalized these last few years into a mania. Most every newer movie and TV show has caved to this behavior like it was the "norm" everywhere. Well it is not, and I for one am so tired of most every good newer film or TV show coming out has included this deviant behavior in them to put out this lifestyle as healthy and wholesome. Sorry no. It is not healthy, or loving whatsoever and has destroyed many young people who embrace it. So sad. I would recommend staying far away from shows and movies that depict this and especially young kids.
Remember James Clavell's Shogun starring Richard Chamberlain as English Captain Blackthorne who is taken captive in early Japan and becomes a samurai warrior? It was the prime time hit back in 1980 and many people learned Japanese words and many went to learn martial arts, it was quite a few months of Japanese lore and love of the samurai style and fighting. This movie stirs that kind of story line fervor as one watches it. Yes it has a lot of fantasy, mystery and unusual characters but it is a great story similar to the knights saving the princess from the evil lord of the black castle in many medieval castle stories and movies. The actors are excellent in all of their roles, and many have played in other great Japanese movies similar to this one. I found it inspiring and quite entertaining like a good pirates of the Caribbean type adventure. No foul language, nothing questionable, no nudity, some graphic violence in some parts, but not excessive. Enjoy with others you will not be disappointed.
This movie started out great and developed the main character Melissa (Meghan Carrasquillo) well, as well as a few of the supporting characters, like her annoying boss. (I bet a few of us has bosses like that). The movie clips along at a rather slow burn till a green flash of light changes everything. What happens next is mysterious, confusing, and a bit low budget, and seemed more like an infection gone rogue. I liked the movie and it could have been a hell of a lot better if they took the time to develop the background story a bit more as well as the villain's intent and purpose rather than just a Sci-Fi rock hunt. Albeit it was entertaining, no nudity and very little foul language, some gore and blood. Nothing questionable, The views are stunning as is the location. A good "nothing else to see" movie. Enjoy!
