Nosferatu had it's merits, but was ultimately disappointing.
Though it had a nice cast, it often felt like they were overacting and shouting.
It was cinematically beautiful in lots of ways, in fact there were a few stills that really took me.
But it was incredibly slow, and lacked substance.
There was so much talking, and not much being said.
The depiction of Nosferatu was one dimensional, and unnecessarily gross.
The theme of things being unnecessarily gross was pretty constant throughout.
There was a real lack of complexity to the characters and their relationships with one another.
There was a lot of time taken to show things that didn't add much, and no time taken to provide more depth.
Shame really, since it's a story with so much potential.

I usually love Henry Selick's work. In fact the Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline are two of my favourite movies. But this just didn't hit the mark.
There was far too much going on, and many of the additional story points feel unnecessary, which ultimately ends up taking away from the quality of a film that could've been great, but really wasn't.
This film would've been so much better if the story was simplified and streamlined a bit.
Pretty disappointing overall.
The animation style was nice though, although not my favourite of his work, and it was nice to have diversity in the characters.

No one else has wrote a review so I decided I would, to warn you all about this film. I watched it on Sky as they made the synopsis quite enticing calling it a "twisting thriller" starring Sarah Roemer (She was in "Disturbia" too which, I quite liked) - so I thought I would give it a try.
It was very poorly described as a "twisting thriller" because although there was a little "twist" at the end I wouldn't call it "twisting". Unless you count all the random flipping back and forth. The introduction was slow and so was the rest of the movie. You kind of figure out what's happened/happening half way through, but it never really clarifies it.
The acting is mediocre. I understand the budget was low, but I feel like they could've skipped somethings to make other things better.
It was one of those movies, where the idea was there, but everything else didn't quite follow through.
Pretty disappointed actually - "twisting thrillers" are right up my street.
