The first time I watched this, I would've rated it a 6. But it stuck to me. I had to see it again. Maybe for the time period, Dakota, the music? I wasn't sure, but on my 2nd viewing, more of it seeped through, the depth of each character clicked. It's an 8/10. Now embarking on my own writing adventure, I watched it two more times. The writing is perfection. So good, it's flown over the mainstream audience's head. There's so much richness to this I feel like only a story writer would pick up on what went into this. So many tells, the nuances of the characters people miss on first seeing it. The only reason it's not a 10/10 is because it's so good, people miss the work and talent that was put into the writing and directing. Watch it again, you'll start to see it.
The only reason this got made is because of a good salesman. Excellent idea very poorly executed. This is Guy's Garfield for sure. The soundtrack implies they were serious. The rest looks like they knew it was a farce.
