Anyone who didn't bother to watch the whole series should drop the idea of adding a missguiding review. To be honest - I wasn't hooked on it myself and after 2-3 episodes I stopped watching for a while. This is not what I do though so I continued, thankfuly. The story not only grew on me, being really good for what I initially thought it was, but also had a really really unexpected plot twist in store. This anime truly had my jaw dropping, it has all the ingredients of a good fantasy story that will have you shed a tear and cause goosebumps. Even if you're not convinced at first, just keep going as it gets better before it gets brilliant! Really satisfying watch.
It couldn't be a ground-shaking experience in the sense of showing us something new. But - it was a sentimental journey nevertheless, a beautiful re-telling. I was vary because of all the voices who claim it's too political, but I watched it with an open mind of a child and got to re-live some of fond memories from my childhood that this movie evokes. With animation we all know when we cried! With this one I cried in the opening scenes, seeing how far we've come and how it can still be valid and treasured over 20 years later.
