  • A real treat for grindhouse fans

A real treat for grindhouse fans who love to be taken back to the 70s, those visits to smokey cinemas with sticky floors and dodgy projectors.

The style is perfectly captured by director Bobby Blood.

Fiona Kennedy is excellent throughout as the nurse, she has a beautiful vulnerability on screen and is a star in the making.

I felt totally sympathetic to her cause and I think the audience as a whole did, we were rooting from her.

The baddies were great too, a real DEVIL'S REJECT vibe.

Its not just a gore fest, a proper narrative runs throughout. It wasn't predictable either, it keeps you on your toes.

There are genuinely creepy moments as well as laugh out loud moments. This was great entertainment and it wasn't trying to pretend to be anything else.

Made for just $3500 what an incredible achievement.

I cannot wait to see what the team and the Director do next.

  • 9 out of 10 for effort

Sometimes we all just want to forget serious drama and complicated plot lines and have some fun.

Axel Falcon is just pure undiluted fun.

Forget the production values. Which are for something with a tiny budget of just £4000 are actually pretty impressive, especially some of the make up and special effects.

Solid acting and some baddies reminiscent of 1980s video game Double Dragon.

Here we have a comic book style drama, a hard nosed cop out on the rough streets fighting back against the baddies, it's a familiar concept but one we all love.

It took me back to reading comics as a schoolboy, I loved those action packed stories and Axel Falcon does a similar thing. There are also some very creative robot villians which took me back to something else I loved - 1980s Doctor Who.

Here is a film that doesn't take itself too seriously and in turn you don't need to take it too seriously, it's simply a blast and we cheer on Axel Falcon on his quest for justice. There is enough to satisfy the gore hounds too.

The perfect film for a relaxed night in with a Chinese and a few beers when you just want some fun escapism and entertainment.

    Congrats to all involved.

  • Clever, Funny, British gangster movie

Michael Head has created a really entertaining film here and isn't that what most people want? Entertainment.

This movie is not for the snooty critics that write reviews knowing little about the working class love for a good old gangster tale that features that world but also everyday family dramas they can relate to. It's nicely divided up into chapters like a novel and features Latin, yes Latin descriptions as we go along.

There are a plethora of well known faces that keep up your interest too, from Jay's dad from the Inbetweeners to the sexy French lady from Allo Allo. Plus Alan Ford, Maisie Williams and Gary Webster. This cast of familiar faces rises the film up beyond the standard gangster tale and with a Guy Ritchie style, Michael Head keeps it all romping along including absolutely hilarious moments from Dapper Laughs and Vas Blackwood. Plus, genuinely sad moving moments. John Hannah also features in a charismatic cameo as a gnarly Scot.

It all moves along at fast pace with consistently good performances throughout. It's perfect viewing with a Chinese takeaway and a few beers on the go.

Writing, directing, acting in, funding and putting a film together is a huge operation when you're an independent film maker it takes guts, grit, determination and a never say die attitude, as someone who's been there I can only applaud Michael for what he has achieved.
