This show is so dreadful it is unbelievable that it lasted 11 seasons. I randomly check out episodes from different seasons just to see how bad it can get, and it is bad! A ditsy Candice supposed to be smart and only playing a dits, but her character is so over the top pink, it is nauseating. The barby act is an insult to barbie. In this episode Candice fails to stop a nutty mother with a gun, while in previous episodes she disarmed more dangerous criminals. The French normally do this kind of soft-porn detective series, but this show is an insult to taste, intelligence, and crime tv in general.

This show is so very bad it's remarkable that not only it was made in the first place, it got another season. Dialogue is wooden and unreal, no one speaks in sentences they use. Samantha bond was once ok in the UK shows, now she is a train rack of stiff tedium, which you can't imagine to be worse but it is -- she is snobbish, fake and arrogant which makes all more of a disaster. UK has had a lot of bad shows since Covid -- Whitstable Pearl, the Tower, Madame Blanc and some such. But this one truly takes the biscuit. Even madame blanc is more watchable. What is happening to the Bbc? A nosedive of massive proportion.

It took me years to get to it but then ok, 29 seasons must count for something. So I tried. Only to confirm that producers, actors (sadly, as there are some awesome actors) and us, the viewers, are truly idiots.

Leo and Harry were most redeeming values (well, only Leo really), Sam was utterly bizarre and boring, and countless men who dated her over the years are a mystery. Why? Who decided to write such an unattractive annoying character, and then think that someone would bother to be in love with her.

Then, Nikki. First she was promising but soon enough became as annoying. If she is always running to save someone, shouldn't she know by now that she'd be attacked. Nope. Yet insists on going it alone without alerting her colleagues, the police and so on. Not that I expect much realism, but it's just too dumb for too long. Once attacked, Nikki groans and moans and all traumatized, almost surprised that it's happened to her.

I do want to know if all editors have quit at once in disgust over foul quality so the writers have been left fully free to produce moronic scripts.

If you are going to be that unrealistic, at least have some humor like in Midsomer Murders. No, here it's just gory violence, gruesome murder and enthusiastic hysteria.
