American Army officer, Dan Adams is blinded in a training accident. After being discharged from the military hospital. He visits an old friend but is dropped off at the wrong address.
Where Dan finds a dead body and then attacked by two goons.
Nobody believes his story of finding a dead body. Later Dan regains his sight after an operation and decides to investigate himself.
He believes that a man called Johnny Brent might have been killed after he unearthed a smuggling operation.
Blind Spot is an efficient, brisk but implausible B thriller. A quota quickie with an early appearance by Michael Caine.

Freaky Tales is a love letter to 1980s movies such as The Lost Boys and The Warriors. The latter did come out in the late 70s.
It is set in Oakland, California around 1987. You have characters coming out of the cinema after watching The Lost Boys wondering why grandpa never told anyone about all the vampires.
It has four interlinked stories as some characters and events criss cross.
It opens with some nerdy youths who unite with some punk youths to take on the Neo Nazis who keep attacking their club.
Two black female rappers take on the misogynistic rap scene.
Enforcer Clint (Pedro Pascal) who wants to leave his petty gangland life as his wife is about to give birth.
It ends with basketball player Eric 'Sleepy' Floyd (Jay Ellis) looking for vengeance when his house is robbed.
Freaky Tales really wants to be a cult film. Scott Pilgrim vs the World and Kill Bill are owed a debt.
The first story is too uneven, the second one is the weakest. There is a cameo from Tom Hanks as video shop owner who loves to talk about cult films. I am sure he was not based on Quentin Tarantino.

Dick Francis was a steeplechase jockey who became a successful crime writer.
The Racing Game was heralded by ITV when it was launched in 1979. The stories are based on injured ex-jockey turned one handed private investigator Sid Halley.
Former champion steeplechase jockey Sid Halley is asked by his ex father in law Charles Roland to investigate a number of strange accidents of Seabury racecourse.
Shady businessman Howard Graves wants to buy the racecourse and turn in into a shopping mall.
Roland believes that the accidents which took the life of one of Sid's friends were deliberate. So Graves can buy the racecourse cheaply.
As Sid is at a loose end since his hand injury, he gives it a go at being an investigator aided by friend Chico Barnes, a judo instructor.
It is decent opening episode. It all falls together a bit too neatly at the end.
Sid is likeable and a bit reckless as an investigator, more to do with his inexperience.
