St Swithin's Hospital ia getting ready to celebrate St Swithin's Day. The right time for Dr Lawrence Bingham to marry Dr Mary Parsons.
However they want the wedding to be kept a secret as Mary is applying for a promotion which would be in jeopardy if it became known she was married.
However Dr Collier and Dr Dick Stuart-Clark erroneously believe that it is Dr Waring who is to marry Mary and vow to put a stop to it.
The mix ups and mishaps does lead to a lot of violence for a sitcom. Bingham accidentally hitting the vicar.
Then there is a punch up in a fountain. No wonder Professor Loftus is at a loss.

It looks like Sir Keith Spears was playing Prime Minister Harry Shaw like a harp from hell.
It seems General Oscar Gunsberg and General Dominique Dussolier have an agenda of their own.
This will being them on a collision with Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, already reeling from the death of Colonel Ibrahim.
At least the intrigue on land and their false diplomacy was more interesting than what was happening beneath the water.
I felt the relationship between Barclay and Salt was waterlogged.
It was good to see the Tide come in.

Barclay and his specially trained crew that includes General Pierce, get into training to get down the deep depths of the ocean for their diplomatic mission with the Homo Aqua.
At Downing Street Kate Lethbridge-Stewart discovers that it is Prime Minister Harry Shaw who is beholden to big business and American General Oscar Gunsberg.
The big problem for the episode was that nothing much happened as the submersible descended. It really was a washout until the last 15 minutes.
