Fantastic Four brings us a new reboot, a fresh start from scratch for new characters and a literally new universe. I have to admit that I liked it here because I think they succeeded in their plan. The film looks new, I liked that retro look because it looks original compared to all the other films in the genre. The characters are well written, the film doesn't last too long so it's not boring, even the story is mostly good, So where's the problem here? Well if you ask me, I think the problem is in the bar that we've lowered for a while now. Although the film is solid on almost all levels, it didn't wow me in any way. It didn't surprise me, blow me away, leave me in awe or influence me in any way. For me, this is a solid superhero film, fun for 2 hours and that's it, I'll forget about it in a few days. In this day and age where such films are mostly disappointments or bad, this one certainly rose above those, but over a longer period of time it turns out to be kind of average. I'm sorry, but that's how I feel.
The film is good, with a lot of relatively good reviews, so I was interested to see what the final product was like. In the end, the result is good, but only good. I didn't like it as much as most people. There are a lot of characters, but it's clear that Yelena, played by Florence Pugh, is the main character. The film is also a bit of drama, solid humor (considering the newer MCU films) and fight scenes. However, I have a problem with the villains (antagonists). It turns out that there are two in this film, and I didn't like either of them. One of them is simply overpowered and didn't fit into the film, I even think he was wasted for this occasion. I don't like the ending of the film the least, the tone and direction are missed and it lowers the overall impression of the film.
An incredibly bad movie on absolutely every level. From the story, the choice of actors, the script, the effects, the characters,.. Everything is a miss. Even Samuel Jackson looks bad and looks like he doesn't feel like participating in this project. I could write for a long time about what's wrong with the movie, but that would be a waste of time as well as just watching this movie, I couldn't wait for it to end. Heavy cringe in several scenes, boredom, lack of any normal humor, illogicalities and insulting one's own intelligence, that's the essence of the whole movie.
