This film was a lot of fun. Old lady with a special set of skills helps out when a child is kidnapped.
She kicks butt against bad guys and it's just great, fun viewing. It's no award winner, but definitely a great watch that had me on my feet a coupla times.
The rating is way too low. You can bet a pound to a pinch of poo that if the old protagonist was a grizzly duffer like a younger Eastwood or Sam Elliot, ratings would be higher.
It seems these days anything with female leads or POC instantly gets marked down by the easily offended for being "woke" (ugh).
Leave your IQ at the door and have some fun.
There's good scenery, fighting, chasing and a twist or two. Movies are meant to be entertaining and this is.
Do it.
Summary: People would sadly rate higher with male leads.

I watch a LOT of films, but rarely do I leave a rating. This time I felt compelled to leave one as this film deserves more than the 4.2 it was when I watched it. Horror films always rate lower I find (why IS that) and many non-niche subtitled foreign horrors even less by default. Don't be deterred from pressing play on this badboy, a this film was really enjoyable. It was old skool, enjoyable, cabin in the woods/by a lake, cellar door type horror. I immediately referenced Evil Dead and Cabin Fever and so did the characters in the film! It's not arthouse, it's having fun. This was clearly made by someone who loves the genre, and it was made well on a tiny budget. Good creepy build up, a little twist at the end, and overall, a decent horror all round. Give it a go if you like horror and can handle subtitles like an adult.
It's a good caper film, leave your brain at the door. It's got explosions, stunning locations and Reynolds being himself. All good.
They say the budget was $150 million. All the products advertised as subtle as a sledgehammer must've paid $10 each. They're everywhere.
But get past those and the confusing editing, and you've got a great little popcorn movie.
