This feels like a TV movie, a bit like how the new Dune TV series is to the new Dune movies. Poor!
The lead actor and the cause are just poor and overly stretched. The story feels so desperate you feel bad and it's cringing. They try really hard to create a cause and link to the original, most of it doesn't make sense.
I got through half the film and just gave up out of boredom and not caring. It was nice to hear the music of the original and get glimpses of the original, as I'm a big fan of the original. Overall the sets and costumes were good.
Talking of the original, the narrative of this story damages the original and the legend of the gladiator which is disappointing.

This is excellent work. Captures the atmosphere and horror of the originals, not an easy thing to do, therefore bravo. Ignore the silly comments about too many cringe nods to the originals, I thought they were subtle and great. My main initial concern was the teen actors, but the backstory works and makes sense, and the acting was good. Especially the lead and co lead who played the android. The cgi was good, and the sound was great.
What could be improved? A deeper story but no silly twists to the alien lore. Stick to, horror and survival we don't need deep explanations about how it all started and avoid the large blue men. Stick to horror and survival! Which this film achieves successfully and a good starting point for a new series of films.

Not many racing movies + best action hero.
Rocky/Rambo in a race car that's all you need to know. Effects for 2001 are not bad at all, racing is good. Sly as a veteran driver works for me. I'm an F1 fan, but this indy car movie translates over well. It's no Senna or Rush, but hey it gets the racing juices going for me. It's well done as a movie especially in such a hard to film sport. It's definitely better than the Gran Truism movie, folk need to give Driven a chance if they can find it anywhere. Streaming options are limited best place is probably amazon for a Blu ray. It could end up being a cult classic.
