One of the main problems is that the main character's behaviors and facial expressions are not believable. A person in "real life" would not continue to drive the vehicle, keep the gun in the car shortly after finding it, come back to the car after vacating when the cell phone rings etc. He seems to be in some sort of trance hell bound for self destruction making optimum use of every booby trap conveniently presented to him.Movie writers often make people look and act more stupid than they really are just to accomplish a plot. The balance between the plateau of inaction and sudden extreme action makes the film lack cohesiveness. Also, the pressure placed on him by a seemingly dismissive, disinterested and demanding female on the phone detracts from the audience's attempts to tie his stupor to the action around him as well as the unbelievable storyline.
