An amazing cast of actors. Sean Penn leads the cast as a lost Young-man brilliantly played, with younger brother played by real life brother Chris Penn. And the cast just keeps getting stronger looking up to outlaw Father Christopher Walken ( Also a strong performance ) to follow in his footsteps.
The cast just keeps getting stronger obviously unknown actors at this point down to Keither Sutherland who is pretty much just an extra.
A quality soundtrack with some great scenes played out by some great actors there's just something not quite right in the storytelling and transition from scene to scene that lets down the quality of the acting.
The overall film was not great for fans of 80s and 90s movies will really enjoy some early career appearances By some quality actors.

Somewhere in time, a man was born to be a Superman and he captured this role like no one before him and better than anyone since. It's his ability to play Clark Kent that makes his transformation to Superman all the more spectacular.
To leave this global phenomenon and enter a slow moving period piece maybe was bad timing and probably why this performance and movie get forgotten.
What is very visible in this film is the chemistry Christopher Reeves has with the screen and a wonderful performance.
Flanked by some screen icons in the form of Jane Seymour and Christopher plumber .
If you have the time, somewhere in time is time well spent a little gem they probably got lost under a big red cape.

One late evening in the early 90s. A huge van Damme fan with bloodsport cyborg death Warrant and of course the original kickboxer being some of my favourite films of the time. Walked into my local video store (still VHS) to see a new release kickboxer two the road back.
I was delighted until realising there was no Van Damme Michel Qissi would return has terrifying Tong Po.
My first reaction was to pick another film as often sequels without the original star become a low budget cash cow. But in the end decided to gamble on kickboxer two.
Sasha Mitchell embraces the younger brother role not feeling he's quite as good as his older siblings. With shades of the karate kid magic as he demonstrates the rocking river to a young. (Brian Greene.) he instantly establishes himself as a skilled fighter.
From this moment in as a 12 year-old boy, I was hooked love the movie great performances with an underdog story that is closer to Rocky than the original kickboxer add to that some great tunes in my brother's eyes plus it's all up to you and you have a film Worthy of its own franchise. The road back it could've been called without the kickboxer two. Which is maybe where it got lost to audiences.
My VHS copy is long gone having recently spotted it on DVD. I decided to take a nostalgic journey down memory Lane and it did not fail to deliver the movie has held up really well unlike the sequels that would follow.
If you're a fan of 90s martial art movies you're in for a treat if you missed out on this one back in the day.
