Fantastic film with Kate Winslet outstanding. I am interested in the holocaust ( having visited Auschwitz ) and it was important to me that the film about Lee Miller was not sanitised or trivialized. It wasn't and for me it was two hours of compulsive viewing. Film of the year for me and only behind Schindler's List in thi type of topic. I have now been reading about Lee Miller and it is fascinating as she lived in such a desperate period in History. Plus the film has a superb cast including the magnificent Marion Cottillard ( yes I am also fascinated by Edith Piaf) and was never slow. As I live in the Channel Islands, the only British area occupied by the German forces , I am aware of many of the interesting facts ( including the head shaving of females accused of collaborating with the enemy ) and other historical facts big and small.

I really enjoyed this Italian series and the characters. The acting was good and everything was believable. The young and older versions of the two lead actors not exactly looking similar did not spoil the story even though I had read an English film critic not liking them. All in all a good way to spend a few hours. Stick with it beyond the first episode as the characters and plot get easier to follow. No real violence, the sex is reasonable and some of the scenery absolutely glorious. I can't how they could make a follow up series but it will look out to see it happens. My only criticism is that the end of the world lighthouse and beach are neither Fisterra or Cap de Creus.

I am of the same generation and he just reflects my growing whilst making it really entertaining. Great soundtrack from the fabulous Van Morrison. Super mixture of top actors and relative newcomers. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
