  • Highly recommend

This drama scores highly on every front. It has a creative and interesting plot with a pace that never leaves you dull. It gives great life lessons on how we should handle our approach on beautifying ourselves and remaining to our true form. A no stress series (32 episodes) filled with laughter, romance, sisterhood, bromance and family support. No stress watch - just pure delight. It's executed by a stellar cast and the ML is the reason I started watching this series. His acting is spot on. The romance between the FL & ML are just as interesting as the romance between second FL and second ML. The comedy is superb and has me laughing out loud at every episode. Initially there's a few slapstick comedy but if that's not your thing, I still encourage you to watch on because the slapstick comedy is not much. You just get real comedy.

  • To appreciate it, you have to watch till the end

There's a lot of things I didn't like when I started watching this series like how childish and embarrassing the FL can be and how unemotional and wooden the ML is most of the time. However, the FL can be adorable in her silly ways and is pretty pleasant to look at. With so many good reviews, I decided to persevere to watch till the end (of course with a fast forward button). The story unfolds very well and I can appreciate how it tells us the obstacles and hardship of a relationship between a simple, innocent, honest and kindhearted FL with a sophisticated, rich, influential and intelligent ML tycoon who has been through a few relationships and yet is lonely because he always has his guard up. He sees the FL as someone he is comfortable with, someone he can love and protect (though he does fail to protect her from being hurt but he learns quickly from his mistakes). The interesting part is to see how the FL learns from her mistakes and hardships and slowly develops some sophistication and confidence to match her status and decide what she really wants to be. I just wish there were more episodes to show her successful development but instead her success was cramped into the last 2 episodes. Given the audience had to endure lots of silliness from her, I wish we were rewarded with more episodes of her final achievements. The ML's show of emotions get better as the series plods on and we see much chemistry in the later episodes when they are together.

  • Started well but it dragged painfully on

I watched this series because of the . In this drama, he looked rather tired and certainly looked his years (believe he is 10 years older than the FL). There's not much chemistry between him and the FL here. Their relationship seems to be like big brother and small sister. The plot seems interesting as it introduces the audience to Chinese fashion and they do showcase some beautiful clothes. The FL's character is strong and smart which is a plus but the plot throws a lot of obstacles especially against our FL in this romance. You have at least 3 ladies who will do harm to our FL and this does not include the ML's mother who disapproves of their relationship. The story plods along with each character (even the villains) given good amount of face time for character development and closure. That's why it ends up with 45 episodes. I think I'll stick with dramas (esp romance type) which ends within 35 episodes. I was using the fast forward button on many episodes just to finish this series.
