Decent film. Essentially they put together a war experience from a group of soldiers on film. No plot. No soundtrack. Group of soldiers performing a mission which is basically securing a home in Iraq. Things so south very soon. What you will be seeing is how the soldiers deal with the situation (apparently based on the memories of the real ones who were there). Not for the squeamish during some scenes. This film will show how ugly and horrific war is - opposed to the traditional Hollywood glorified "US is the best" trope. Some will understand how and why many come back home with PTSD. Overall, can think of this like the first 30 min of Saving Private Ryan but centred in a house. Very real, very sobering. Well made.
Really want to like this as I'm a big fan of Jensen. But the directing this series unfortunately falls to the typical Hollywood style tropes. Getting tiresome seeing each character end up with the same "slow head turn" or "slow head raise" thus representing the many non-verbal looks. The "shock", the "It's you!", the "oh my, what have I done", the "I don't know what to do" looks. We've all seen this in trailers. It it can avoid all that and have smart dialogue to replace, it's a sure winner. The actors are decent, the storyline is little overused, but it can be a fun series with a potential multiple seasons. Until then, my rating is average. :)
