The dancing and acting from the principals is wonderful, amazing, breathtaking. Locations are great and visually it's superb. Some of the humour is weird and French. Such a pity they had to shovel in the eco rubbish. It's still worth watching though and if you love ballet and know how it's full of interesting, difficult characters it will definitely entertain.
Having just watched all the previous episodes again, I enjoyed this update in many ways. I loved the new startlingly sensible adult that Ben seems to have become, that was a nice touch. All the actors dealt with the episode well. It did however lack the vigour somehow of the previous series. It's probably a difficult challenge for writers and actors to keep the freshness of a new idea but the writers didn't make enough of the newness of the children having grown up. What really depressed me was that they had to do the old tired, mandated BBC negative Trump stuff and Just stop oil boring garbage. That's why this is the first BBC programme I've watched for years. Some laughs there, but not enough.
It's sad that so many biased people must have marked this excellent series down for bigoted, political reasons. JRM and his wife seemed to me to be likeable principled people bringing up their children in a calm, Christian manner. I thought the series was marvellous and fascinating. Such fun to see the children's reactions to things. As for Mrs Rees-,Mogg, I thought she was an absolute star. She stayed composed as events swirled around her, yet she somehow kept control. It was a very well put together series. Why were there only 5 episodes? I wanted it to go on and on. It was so refreshing and calming to see a family not cavorting in an insane manner as far too many celebs and those on TV do. It was an island of calm in a sea of madness and insanity.
