This was simply fantastic! Great cast, and Chalamet was a surprising good 'young Gene Wilder' Willy Wonka, who can sing rather nicely too!
This made me fee fuzzy inside, like so few movies do. It made me feel a kid again watching a Roald Dahl creation come to life.
Infectious songs and a rousing classical score match the action so well too. "Never had chocolate like this" is a rather pesky ear worm I can't rid myself of!
If you liked Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl stories and/or heartwarming family friendly entertainment, this has it all.
Would love to see more from the same team, but as a standalone even this deserves to be a modern classic for time to come!
