At some point, it becomes impossible to take Hostage seriously. There are too many situations that could never happen in the real world, starting with a consistent absence of security for heads of state and their families. And that's why the best way to watch it is to make a game out of every ridiculous plot point or character action. There's no shortage of them in every episode, many of them entirely predictable once you let yourself in on the joke. Bonus points for every time you can blurt out the next line before the actors do.
