Spike Lee made a smart move in casting Denzel , otherwise this movie would rate a 2 or 3. Based on a 1950's masterpiece film by Akira Kurosawa, this is a morality play where human frailties and vulnerabilities almost destroy a wealthy, successful man and his family.
With the exception of Denzel Washington, the acting is pretty mediocre, and the movie would have been pretty boring. I thought it went on about 30 or 40 minutes too long. It's an ok watch, but don't expect too much.

I enjoyed all the MI films, some more than others. Unfortunately this one falls flat in comparison. I thought it was too long and would have benefited from some cutting parts out to tighten up the story. The writing was not as sharp, not as smart, and just lacking in a cohesive story. The actors did their best with what they had, but they didn't really have great lines to say, as they had in most of the other MI's. The ending, outside of a suspenseful plane chase, was pretty miserable in my opinion. I hope Tom moves on and lets the MI series end here.
This should've been much better. The first episode was sort of a set up story - it much in the way of action. It was kind of interesting, but not what I expected in terms of quality. Just saw the second episode, and it was marginally better. It had some action, and they did a decent job with the xenomorphs. Besides some action, there was a little more in the way of story background. They really need to step up their game though, and do it fast. If the show remains at around this level, they will lose me.
