I get how, it being marketed as a proper rom-com and us expecting it to be "the" rom-com we're getting after so many years, for it to be the most anti rom-com of all rom-coms 😆 it can be a bit disappointing
However I have to say I like it. It's a different take on love. It's a bit more realistic. It's modern love and relationships albeit having classic "elements of a perfect love story" - super rich guy, one that's so perfect that anyone would want or.. one that can just offer, love.
I think Dakota being Dakota makes the movie just.... being. If that makes sense. No dramatic scenes, no running for the love of your life that you're losing, no 3rd person drama, no scandal, no over-the-top nothing. It's like the movie just exists. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but some might find it boring. I think one have to relate to some messages in the movie for it to resonate well with you. Me being a career-driven woman, grew up poor and now chases after things and money instead of love. Hell yeah, I see you Celine. 🤣🤣

The only relation it has with its prequels were the Tubbies scene, which of course then made utterly redundant and irrelevant to the entire story. That seems to be the theme of it id say, its riddled with completely useless sub stories that has no continuation whatsoever. Distracting us from the storyline but to be completely honest, i seem to be asking myself every 10 mins, wtf is the actual storyline again?
The AIs cheapens the whole thing i hated it. Sure, it made some cool effects but it almost as if i was watching Silent Hill, with the strange looking creatures or whatnots. Why does everyone have to be naked again?? Also like - it looks like a poor rl adaptation of some kind of zombie game. Again, Silent Hill.
I feel like they couldve created a whole new franchise with this fantasy instead of riding on the "28" hype. I got way too excited over nothing.
