  • This is what Star Wars is Meant to Be

I will be completely honest that my enthusiasm for Star Wars had waned in the past couple years with most content being "cash grabs" or stories with the Star Wars label slapped on them without any thought to the writing. However, I just finished watching season 2 of Andor (yes, I'm late), and I was reminded of my love of SW and what it means to me. The magnitude, scale, writing, acting, was brilliant and beautiful to witness. The show left my heart full but also broken in a million pieces - that's GOOD storytelling. Season 2 took my breath away multiple times This show is peak SW and I feel spoiled to be here to watch it.

  • One of my favorite films upon rewatch!

In all honesty the first time watching, I didn't get it. GOOD THING I REWATCHED IT. My eyes are open now; omg, it was incredible. The last 20 minutes are insane and worth the runtime - also some of the best acting I have ever seen! I will say even on my first time watching I thought the score and cinematography were gorgeous! Both Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak bring strong and powerful performances to the screen, but I expect nothing less from two Old Hollywood legends.

One thing that stood out to me other than the thing that stands out is the vibrancy of the colors on screen. It's such a breath of fresh air seeing actual COLORS. One thing missing from most modern films is the pop of color.

Anyway, so so glad I rewatch this masterpiece!

  • A Powerful Retelling of West Side Story!

What a beautiful remake that builds upon the foundations of the original. As a huge fan of the 1961 version, I was very skeptical of the remake, but Spielberg did an excellent job revising it! The film was absolutely exquisite from the acting, singing and dancing. And of course the cinematography was immaculate. There was so much more depth to María and Tony in this version. The entire cast gave stellar performances. I could keep praising it. Overall, I loved every second of West Side Story.
