In all honesty the first time watching, I didn't get it. GOOD THING I REWATCHED IT. My eyes are open now; omg, it was incredible. The last 20 minutes are insane and worth the runtime - also some of the best acting I have ever seen! I will say even on my first time watching I thought the score and cinematography were gorgeous! Both Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak bring strong and powerful performances to the screen, but I expect nothing less from two Old Hollywood legends.
One thing that stood out to me other than the thing that stands out is the vibrancy of the colors on screen. It's such a breath of fresh air seeing actual COLORS. One thing missing from most modern films is the pop of color.
Anyway, so so glad I rewatch this masterpiece!

What a beautiful remake that builds upon the foundations of the original. As a huge fan of the 1961 version, I was very skeptical of the remake, but Spielberg did an excellent job revising it! The film was absolutely exquisite from the acting, singing and dancing. And of course the cinematography was immaculate. There was so much more depth to María and Tony in this version. The entire cast gave stellar performances. I could keep praising it. Overall, I loved every second of West Side Story.
Poldark is an absolutely beautiful show in all aspects! From the beginning, I fell completely in love with the story, characters, and scenery. The series is based on the first 6 of 12 Poldark novels by Winston Graham, and it follows Ross Poldark who has just returned from the American Revolution to a horrible state of affairs back in England. The story continues by following Ross' escapades.
All the characters are magnificently written and all the cast give outstanding performances. I can undoubtedly say that this show is my favorite period drama. Today it is so hard to find tv that is not filled with filth and trash. However, Poldark is a breath of fresh air in every way.
After finishing the show, I didn't feel like leaving the word of Poldark, so I started reading the books. The books are just as interesting and griping as the show if not more. The books explore deeper into the thoughts and actions of the characters. Overall, I ardently recommend both the show and books!
