Something from Tiffany's had promise with its premise but its cast and story line barely carry this film. There is little chemistry between the two actors and their lives leave little for some meaningful crossover. As cheesy as hallmark films can be they sometimes provide for a natural sort of reason for both lovebirds to connect, whereas we see this forced over here. Overall an average sort of film. 6/10.
Die Another Day sadly does not feel like a Bond film. It was a disappointing end to Pierce Brosnan's era. Pierce's films relied too much on special effects, over the top sequences and explosions and very unrealistic events. Die Another Day pushes the envelope the furthest. The plot is not a bad one and if they relied more on it, the intrigue, the backstory and motive, it might have landed better. But they had too much noise and got ahead of themselves with explosions to appeal to the mainstream. The weakest edition in the Bond franchise sadly.
Toy Story 2 is one of those rare sequels that doesn't just repeat what worked the first time but expands the world in a way that feels richer, deeper, and surprisingly emotional. Pixar took a huge risk following up a modern classic, and they delivered something that stands proudly on its own.
The film balances adventure, humour, and heart with ease. The rescue mission storyline is fun and fast paced, giving every character a moment to shine. Woody's internal struggle and the introduction of Jessie add real emotional weight, and Jessie's backstory is still one of Pixar's most touching sequences. The animation, while early by today's standards, still feels charming and full of life. The comedic timing is sharp, especially with Buzz and his "other Buzz" encounter, which remains a highlight.
What makes Toy Story 2 stand out is how it deepens its themes: loyalty, purpose, and what it means to belong. For a family film to explore those ideas so gracefully is impressive even now.
It may not quite reach the perfection of the first film, but it's endlessly entertaining and surprisingly moving. A worthy sequel and a standout Pixar adventure. 8 out of 10.
